Team Owners Guide
At FSF, you'll find the best quality fantasy cricket experience available. We pride ourselves on the skill of our team owners, the competitiveness of our leagues, and the quality of our service. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how our leagues work.
THE BASICS
As an owner, you'll draft a team consisting of 11 players in the starting lineup and a 5 man reserve squad for a total of 16 players. At the conclusion of the draft, you must have selected a minimum of four batsmen, four bowlers and 1 wicket keeper. The additional two players in your starting line-up can be a player of any position. You can include 2 wicket keepers should you desire! A reserve squad can consist of any five players, regardless of position. (Note: Some players are eligible as a bowler or a batsmen, so at draft time FSF will assign positions.)
You will compete in a 14 team league and earn points in the following 10 categories: runs, Centuries, Boundaries, Strike Rate (Batting), Wickets, Bowling Average, Catches/Stumpings, 5 wicket hauls, Overs bowled and run-outs (the less the better). You will be ranked in these categories based on your teams actual stats. Points will be awarded in each category depending on where you rank. Your total points in each category will be added together and ranked against the other teams in your league.
For example:-
If your team has scored the most number of runs in the league, you will score 14 pts in that category.
If your team has taken the least number of wickets in the league, you will score 1pt in that category.
LIVE ON-LINE CHAT ROOM DRAFT
If you have never competed in a LIVE on-line chat room draft before, you are in for a real treat! This is not a salary cap format where you are limited in your selection, or a league where many of you will select the same players. The draft will consist of 16 rounds (16-man squad.) During each round you will select one player that is not already selected by another team. The draft order is selected randomly. The draft order reverses each round (1-14, 14-1) so regardless of your position in the draft you will not have an unfair advantage or disadvantage. Draft dates are posted on the "Cricket draft sign-up page.". You will be notified of your draft order several days before the draft. The draft takes about two hours to complete.
TRANSACTIONS
At FSF, we believe you should only pay once to play. Unlike so many other services, there is No Charge for Transactions of Any Type! Here are the ways you can improve your team during the season.
Free Agent Acquisitions
A free agent is considered any player not currently in a squad in your league. You are allowed to add ONE free agent per week to your squad. Remember that your squad cannot exceed 16 players, so if you wish to acquire a free agent, you must also release a player. Free agent picks begin in Week 4 of the season. The team currently last in the standing has 1st pick, 2nd from bottom receives 2nd pick and so on.
Free agent requests are submitted by email. If you are higher in the standings, you may wish to submit more than one players name as your 1st choice may be taken by a team picking before you. If all of your free agent requests are taken, you will retain the player whom you were going to release. You do not have to put the free agent acquisition in your lineup. If you choose, you may stick him on your bench. Free agent requests must be submitted via email to cricket@fantasysportsfactory.co.uk no later than Fridays at Midnight. The order of selection in the weekly free agent process is determined by the standings as of Monday morning.
Trades
You may trade or acquire as many players as you wish per week and you do not have to trade player-for-player or position-for-position. (You may trade a batsman for a bowler, wicket keeper, etc.). You may trade your weekly free agent pick, however for the current transaction week only. You may also make unbalanced trades (2-for-1 or 3-for-2). However, you must never exceed the 16-player squad limit. If you receive more players than you trade, you must release a player from your squad. (You may give up more players than you receive.) You may have less than 16 on your roster (for example, five men on your reserve squad instead of six), but never more. Both team owners must e-mail in the trade. Trades become official after a 24-hour Commissioner review period following the weekly trade deadline. Once trade confirmations have been received from both owners, the trade MAY NOT BE UNCONFIRMED!!!! You may not "reacquire" a player during the season that you previously dealt during the season. (Note: FSF reserves the right to VETO any trade deemed not in the best interest of the league. No collusion of any type will be tolerated and offenders will have their team revoked without return of payment.) The trading period begins the 4th week of the regular season and ends 4 weeks from season end . Trade requests from both trading parties must be e-mailed to cricket@fantasysportsfactory.co.uk no later than Friday at Midnight. All trade results will be emailed on Saturday.
Team Selection
Each week you will be able to select your starting XI for the coming week. Teams must be submitted prior to midnight Sunday night. If no team is received, your XI will remain the same as the week before.
